whatemcooked: Hi, I am Em. Welcome to my kitchen. I'm a proud mom of two young boys living in Melbourne, Australia. I was born in the island of Sumatra in Indonesia, the world of spices, and settled in Australia for almost two decades. I have always been passionate about food and I was inspired to start cooking when I watched Jamie Oliver's 'Oliver's Twist' on the local TV (2008). As a beginner cook I made many mistakes, including turning bread into stone, and not cooling down my cakes completely before spreading icing. Since then, I got married, gave birth to my sons and decided to become a stay at home mom. One of the blessings this brings is that I get to cook for my family every day. Cooking became my vocation. I have loved art since I was a child, hence I also love the aspect of food styling and photography. Special thanks to my beloved husband who is willing to eat my cooking, even at the start when it was horrible.
